New Orleans Zoo
The Audubon Zoo is one of the premier zoological parks in the country, combining excitement of exotic animals with a beautifully serene, natural setting. Animals live in habitats that are designed after the conditions in their native homes, allowing them to live and breed as they would in the wild. Asian elephants, Malaysian sun bears, white Bengal tigers, gorillas, tamarins and scores of other species are on display. One of the more interesting exhibitions is the Embraceable Zoo, where visitors can touch endangered domestic animals.
It is fitting that a zoo in this part of the country would have a popular alligator exhibit. Extremely rare albino alligators are on display, and you will need to come early to get a good view of the daily alligator feeding at Reptile Encounter. You will also want to arrange your schedule to allow you to see the elephant and sea lions shows.
Whether you are visiting New Orleans as a family, a couple or just looking to get away for some reflection, you will enjoy the Audubon Zoo.
